About Me

Hi, I’m Andrea

This is the personal site of Andrea Schwandt-Arbogast. I live in Eureka, California, and I am the Web Manager for Humboldt State University.

I have been working professionally as a web designer since 1999. Prior to that I was pursuing a career in Biology. I have a Master’s in avian behavioral ecology from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, the result of 14 months of research in the Galápagos Islands. My life didn’t end up following the original plan, and somewhere along the way I fell into web design. And I knew I was at home.

This site covers both my professonional and personal lives. You will find articles about web design alongside pictures of my puppy. The two may not be related in your mind, but they are in mine.

You will also find my life lists of birds and mammals, which I am slowly populating with records of all the critters I’ve seen, along with any photos or videos I was lucky enough to catch of them. I don’t expect this section to be very interesting to most of you, but it’s my favorite part of this whole site.

You can keep track of my online comings and goings through my tumblelog, which makes up the Diversions section. I also have profiles on many other sites.
