Microsoft – the American tech giant has recently announced a new keyboard, touted as the Microsoft Modern Keyboard, which comes with the hidden fingerprint sensor. With the Fingerprint ID, this becomes the world first keyboard that has a biometric authentication capability.
“Our vision was to blend the Fingerprint reader into a keyboard, so it would appear to be any other key. We iterated relentlessly to improve each layer, making sure they came together to create a flawless typing experience that felt like any other key,” according to the Microsoft.
The Microsoft Modern Keyboard is compatible with the company’s line of Surface products and you can also connect it to Windows PCs and laptops. Furthermore, the newly arrive keyboard will also able to connect to any MacOS and IOS devices, but keep in mind the IOS device should support Bluetooth 4.0 connection.
The keyboard features a sleek and innovative design with ultra shiny looks, which makes it more appealing and attractive as compared to the other wireless keyboard. The wireless keyboard is thinner and lighter measuring at a 16.57 x 4.43 x 0.76 inches (420.9 x 112.6 x 19.3mm) and weighs 14.58 oz. (413.5g).
The keyboard has comes with a full-width design with a six-key Home section, cursor keys, alphanumeric keys, numeric keys, and a laptop-style island keycaps. The fingerprint ID is located between the Alt and Ctrl keys, which let you allow to unlock your device by pressing fingerprint sensor using Windows Hello.
What I like most about the Microsoft Modern Keyboard is that you can use it either wirelessly through Bluetooth 4.0 connection or with a wired cable as well. To power the keyboard, there is a rechargeable battery buried inside the device, which will last up to two months per a single charge, that’s interesting. It is available for purchase from Microsoft official website and carries a price tag of $129.99.
